building character celebration

The Building Character Celebration is a combination Eagle Scout/Silver Award recognition and Distinguished Citizens Award celebration in one. It is a signature event that engages our community donors and citizens with those youth that have reached the pinnacles of Scouting. The dinner also recognizes the NOESA recipients and the Eagle Scout of the Year.

The event draws 500 participants each year and features a keynote speaker. Past speakers include Mitt Romney, Dr. Robert Gates, Tom Izzo, Governors Scott Walker and Rick Snyder, Dick DeVos and Steven Ford, son of President Gerald R. Ford. The event's major sponsor is the Meijer Corporation, a regional food and retail company.
