EXTREME CAMPING PROGRAMS

Working with the Council Camping Committee, we saw a need for an older youth program at our Council's summer camp. In the first year of operation, we added nearly 100 campers to our summer camp attendance. We saw a 15% increase in campers in year two. The speciality programs was also expanded for an Eagle Scout week.

Below is an excerpt from the Leader's Guide that launched the Extreme Camp programs:

EXTREME is a ridiculously exciting program that will be taking place. It is a series of highly focused programs. We’re bringing in outside experts and offering a level of instruction never before seen in a scout camp. This is the perfect program for any Scout who is looking for a new and different camp experience either as someone who has attended Wah-Tut-Ca for years or as someone who is looking to get a glimpse of the types of programs Wah-Tut-Ca is known for. Check out the program descriptions below. Under most of them you’ll see that work will be done on many merit badges but it should be noted that not all of these badges will be completed during the week. Focus is not on advancement but on learning new and interesting skills in these areas while doing some advancement work at the same time. Don’t worry. It’s not all work. We’ve also built in times for you to have fun and explore camp. So all around this is one of the best program weeks out there.
